How to Add Your First Child

5 min read

Create a complete child profile with demographics, diagnosis, parent contacts, and a photo—plus intake tips that save rework later.

Before you start

Pediatric centers in India often juggle paper intake folders, WhatsApp voice notes, and school report cards before anything hits software. Block twenty focused minutes with the parent (or guardian) so you capture the essentials in one MileEvo session. If the child is funded through a trust, NGO, or insurance partner, confirm which identifiers are mandatory on every future report so you label fields identically across children.

Creating the profile

  • Go to Children (or your center equivalent) and choose Add child.
  • Enter the legal name exactly as it appears on school certificates, NABH forms, or disability paperwork; add preferred names in notes for daily use.
  • Add date of birth with care—many goal banks, assessment norms, and milestone expectations key off precise age bands.
  • Choose at least one primary guardian with a mobile number verified for OTP and WhatsApp summaries; capture a backup contact for days when metro commutes delay one parent.

Clinical and administrative fields

  • Document diagnoses and comorbidities with the taxonomy your billing team already uses—mixing informal labels (“sensory issues”) with clinical tags later creates claim rejections.
  • Capture allergies, seizure plans, AAC details, and preferred communication modalities so substitutes never walk in cold.
  • Upload a portrait only when caregivers provide written or recorded consent; photos dramatically reduce mistaken identity across crowded evening batches.

Tips for busy intake coordinators

  • Ask early whether UDID/Aadhaar linkage will matter this quarter—those workflows influence which attachments you’ll store now versus later.
  • Store therapist-facing languages plus parent-facing languages separately so automated summaries respect regional preferences across Tier 2 cities.
