Why a Multidisciplinary Approach Matters

Supporting a child with developmental delays requires a village. A speech therapist might work on articulation, an occupational therapist on sensory regulation, and a special educator on functional academics. If these professionals work in silos, your child's progress will be fragmented. A multidisciplinary "Care Team" ensures that goals are aligned and strategies are reinforced across all environments.

Establishing Open Channels of Communication

As a parent, you are the CEO of your child's care team. It is essential to create systems where information flows freely:

• The Communication Book: For younger children, a physical notebook that travels between home, therapy, and school allows therapists and teachers to leave quick notes on what worked well that day.
